Chesterton senior Aaron Resto and junior teammate Louis Raffin, the school’s two fastest 400-meter runners, were among eight competitors at Saturday’s Garry Nallenweg Chesterton Relays to earn meet awards.

Chesterton senior Aaron Resto and junior teammate Louis Raffin, the school’s two fastest 400-meter runners, were among eight competitors at Saturday’s Garry Nallenweg Chesterton Relays to earn meet awards.
The meet turns every event into a relay, adding the times or distances of teammates to determine each event’s winner. No team score is tabulated.
Raffin won the Most Valuable Track and Field Athlete Larry James Award. Resto won the Most Valuable Relay Runner Steve Kearney Award.
Raffin was on four first-place teams, running a leg of the 4x200 relay, the 4x400 relay, the 800 sprint relay and the long jump, where he had the day’s third-best distance with a 20-foot jump.
Resto ran on the 4x200, 4x400 and mixed gender 4x400 relays, all first-place finishers.
