Winter sports review 2025-26: Gymnastics

Sammie Boster became Chesterton’s second winter athlete to win a state championship in 2026, achieving the feat on March 14 at Ball State University’s Worthen Arena in Muncie.
Boster successfully defended her state title in the balance beam three weeks after Max Quiroz won the 126-pound state wrestling championship. She scored a 9.675 on the beam to win the event by 0.250, easily the biggest margin of victory in any of the four events.
Boster came close to winning the all-around with a score of 38.100 to finish second to Homestead’s Jillian Creager, who scored a 38.275. Boster picked up another medal in bars, which as recently as her sophomore season was her weakest event. She took home a third-place medal.
Boster will take her best shot at winning multiple events at the 2027 state gymnastics meet.
