Chesterton junior Kristin McCoy and sophomore Taylor Kisic earned All-DAC honors, and Valparaiso freshman Kennedy Guttierez, fifth-place finisher at the state finals, was named MVP of the conference.
McCoy will try to make it four all-conference selections in four tries next fall, when Chesterton returns its top four golfers.
Kisic, who had never played an 18-hole round of golf until doing so in competition with the Trojans as a freshman, has a chance to become a three-time
All-DAC golfer.
McCoy and Kisic both shot 83 at Sandy Pines at the regional, the final tournament of the season for the Trojans, who finished sixth. Genevieve Driscoll and Liz Dodds also return next season.
Chesterton finished third in the final DAC standings, behind Lake Central and Crown Point and ahead of Valparaiso, LaPorte and Portage. Merrillville and Michigan City tied for seventh.
Four girls from Lake Central were named All-DAC: Piper Urbanski, Allie Huppenthal, Victoria Schilling and Maya Parks. Crown Point’s Charlee Zentz and Hailey Ziolkowski and Portage’s Lola Krenkel also earned All-DAC honors.
