Trojans draw LaPorte in sectional semifinal on Halloween night at home, Michigan City at Valparaiso in the other semi

The IHSAA had its annual football sectional pairings show Sunday night, when it was revealed LaPorte will visit Chesterton on Friday, Oct. 31, Halloween night, in a first-round football sectional game.
Michigan City visits Valparaiso in the other sectional semifinal that night.
If Chesterton makes it to the final, the site will be determined based on which school wins the other semifinal. If the opponent is Valparaiso, the game will be played in Chesterton. If it’s Michigan City, the Wolves will be the host school for the game.
Based on going 3-0 against the teams in Sectional 10, City is considered the favorite. The Wolves won at home vs. Chesterton, 30-13, on Sep. 5.
The Trojans went 2-1 against the field, winning a home game vs. LaPorte, 34-14, on Sep. 12. The Trojans stayed at home the following week and defeated Valparaiso, 24-16.
Valpo has gone 1-2 against the field, defeating LaPorte 28-0 and losing to Michigan City 27-21 on Sep. 12, and the Slicers went 0-3.
Senior linebacker Lucas Anderson scored two defensive touchdowns that week, returning a fumble and an interception for scores. He also had eight tackles, four behind the line and two sacks. Anderson is Chesterton’s leader in tackles and interceptions (four).
Chesterton (5-3, 4-2 in the DAC), coming off a 35-14 home loss to Crown Point, finishes its regular season Friday night at Merrillville (6-2, 5-1).
