Spring sports review 2026: Boys track

Chesterton doesn’t hand out a team of the year award, but if it did, the boys track team would run away with it the way it did the competition in all but two meets, the DAC championship (second by a point after a dropped handoff) and the state meet (fifth).
Senior Nathan Vaughan broke three school records (long jump, 100 meters, 300 hurdles) in the first DAC meet of the year, at Valparaiso, and on the final day at the state track meet in Indianapolis took home a pair of second-place medals (4x100 and 4x400) and a pair of fifth-place medals (long jump, 300 hurdles).
Both relays shattered school records and the 4x100 was the second-fastest time in the history of the state meet. For the year, Vaughan put his name in the Chesterton track and field school record book in six events.
Weston Moore, Louis Raffin and Cal Wisniewski joined Vaughan in the 4x100 and as lead leg of the 4x400 was followed by Wisniewski, Ben Phillips and Raffin, who ran a 47.5 anchor leg.
