
Vaughan, Resto, Wisniewski, Barnewall set CHS boys track school record in 4x200 relay Saturday at Hoosier State Relays

The Chesterton boys track and field team had a number of noteworthy performances at the Hoosier State Relays indoor meet in Indianapolis on Saturday, including a 4x200 relay team that took fifth place and set a school record with a 1:29.46.
Nathan Vaughan led off and handed the baton to Aaron Resto. Cal Wisniewski ran the third leg and Kieran Barnewall anchored the relay at the HSR, the state’s biggest and final high school indoor meet.
It was one of Barnewall’s two top-five finishes. He also took fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a 7.94.
The Trojans exceled in the field events as well. Joe Sandrick took sixth in the pole vault with a 14-6.
AJ Brandon cleared 6-6 in the high jump to finish seventh, and Nolan Johnston was 10th a 6-4 jump.
Vaughan took 14th in the 60-meter dash, timed in 7.11.
