
Boys soccer: Zarek Sierazy earns second All-DAC honor, Cody Baughman and Nate Kitchel their first

Chesterton seniors Zarek Sierazy and Nate Kitchel and junior Cody Baughman were among 25 boys soccer players to earn All-DAC honors.
Sierazy leads the Trojans in goals (17) and assists (eight). Kitchel has five goals and two assists, and Kitchel anchors the defense from his center-back position. Sierazy also earned all-conference honors as a junior.
The Trojans will try to avenge a 1-0 loss to Valparaiso at 7 p.m. today at Kankakee Valley in a sectional quarterfinal match.
Chesterton came into the season with a streak of seven consecutive seasons of winning the DAC, either as outright champion or co-champion, but with leading returning scorer Cal Stuckert sidelined most of the season by injury, the Trojans tumbled to fourth with a 4-3 DAC record. Lake Central, led by DAC MVP George Karabatsos, Crown Point and Valparaiso were tri-champions, finishing 6-1. LaPorte, Portage and Merrillville tied for fifth, and Michigan City finished eighth.
