Four girls from 2024-25 Chesterton swim team earn multiple All-American honors

Four swimmers from the Chesterton girls 2025 swim season received multiple All-American honors and they all have something other than cutting through water efficiently and quickly: All four are returning to the team for the 2025-26 season and will be joined by a talented freshman class.
The 200 medley relay team of Adalyn Laughner (backstroke), Brenley Bonez (breaststroke), Tegan Werner (butterfly) and Peyton Ostertag (freestyle) swam the 17th-fastest time in the nation to earn All-American honors. They finished fifth at the state meet in the event.
Seniors Ostertag and Werner, junior Laughner and sophomore Bonez also earned All-American distinction by swimming the 39th- fastest time in the nation in the 400 freestyle relay. The quartet also set a sectional record and placed fourth at state.
Bonez earned additional All-American honors with the nation’s 39th-fastest time in the 100 breaststroke. She holds school and pool records in the event.
The Trojans finished eighth at the state meet last season.
